It is hard to believe...

But, RARE has served Oregon for 15 years – one tenth of Oregon’s 150 year history! Woohoo - this is cause for celebration and fellowship!

This is a blog about the life and times of those of us who chose to serve Oregon’s rural communities (and have a great time at it).

Use it to keep up on the latest celebration news, and reconnect with former RARE participants. Share it with your fellow alums, visit often and then join in September's celebratory event!

Include in your post
· The year(s) you served and your community
· Where you are now
· What you have been doing since RARE
· Share a little about your RARE experience. Don’t forget to dig out those old photos of you during your service term – you know the ones with the funny hair cut or you covered in mud…

Eagerly awaiting this September’s RARE celebration!

As a Year 1 alum, and a RARE Field Coordinator (Years 5 & 6), there are so many folks to catch up with, and so many more to meet.

I have to admit that I drank Dr. Povey’s Kool-Aid very early, and have spent my professional career working almost exclusively in Oregon’s rural communities. I now work for Oregon’s largest municipality (Portland), but as their rural representative in the Sandy River basin. Who woulda thunk it?

I want to hear what others from my years are up to—Amy? Jason? Chaun? Kevin? Pam?
